Things are looking up for the Pershing County High School baseball team.
For the first time since 2017, they've chalked up more than four wins in a season.

This past Friday, the Mustangs hosted Mineral County in a doubleheader (12-0, 13-3). They ended the week on the road against Silver Stage with more success (16-3, 11-1). It added up to a 5-0 week.
"We saw great pitching performances out of Ayden Montes, Wyatt Diaz, Taylor Montes Trenton Rhodes and Blake Burrows. It's cool that the five games we won this week were all won by different pitchers. It speaks to our depth and ability to play good defense behind those pitchers," said coach Jared Jensen.
Diaz and Burrows are seniors. Ayden Montes, Taylor Montes and Rhodes are freshmen.
