Six members of the Pershing County High School track team competed at Wooster High School last weekend. It was the Mark Smith ("Smitty") Invitational.
Luis Sanchez, Ramon Sanchez, Izayuh McGlothin, Josiah Hunt, Ashton Jimenez and Evan Glanton represented PCHS. Results were not available at press time.
"It was a beautiful day but got chilly later on," said coach Matt Fuller. "Overall, they competed well and we're excited about how they'll do the rest of the season."
Lovelock competed in at least half a dozen events, including the long jump, 100, 200, 400 and 1,600 meter races and shot put.
Ramon Sanchez, McGlothin, Jimenez and Glanton competed in the long jump. Jimenez threw the shot put.
On Friday, the track and field team competes in the Fernley Invitational.
