The Pershing County High School softball team's winning streak stretched to five games this past weekend.
They hosted Incline for a doubleheader, and toppled their guests twice (16-1, 15-0).
The Mustangs will travel to Incline Village on Tuesday, Apr. 4, for the third game of the series.
The Mustangs now stand at 6-2 overall, and 2-0 in the 2A Northern league.
On Tuesday, March 21, Lovelock hosted Silver Stage. Results were not available at press time.
Coach Jordan McKinney can't say enough about her team.
She said, "Raegan Burrows pitched both games and did an outstanding job. The girls were patient at the plate and got the job done. Mady Grenz is starting to stand out at the plate and Kaylen Halverson as well. I'm impressed with the girls and how they handled their first conference game of the season."
Sophomore Aaliyah Allen caught for the Mustangs.
"Aaliyah impresses me more every single day. She wants to get better and her hard work is paying off. She comes early on game days to get extra practice. She stays late a lot of days to get in some throws. She is hungry and will be key to our success this year," McKinney added.
This Friday, Pershing County hosts Mineral County for a non-league contest. They play at noon and 2 p.m.
