The Nevada BLM will be preparing an environmental assessment to analyze the potential impacts of modifying grazing permits/livestock management to improve Lahontan cutthroat trout habitat within BLM grazing allotments. Under the proposed action, the BLM would allow for grazing permit modifications on BLM Nevada-administered grazing allotments containing occupied LCT habitat. Grazing flexibilities would be implemented based on monitoring results, and would include any potential modification to the terms and conditions on grazing permits, including season-of-use alterations, changes in the class or kind of livestock, changes to pasture rotation, earlier or later livestock on/off dates, changes in stocking rates, and implementation of rest-rotation or a deferment of pastures or allotments.
