Pershing County 4-H hosted its third annual softball and baseball clinic this past weekend.
Kids from four to 19 years were invited to learn from the best. First, they played skill-building games at McDougal Park. Later, they cooled off at the community pool. About 25 young people participated.
On Saturday morning the younger group took turns throwing the ball at targets, hula hoops lined up on the ground.
After, they raced to retrieve the ball and try again.
Leah and Alyssa Holland were among the coaches. They're well known for their softball prowess and willingness to help others learn the game.
"Their content and skill level is some of the best I've seen," said 4-H coordinator, Colby Burke. "The fundamentals, mental game, and ability to help on an individual level are unsurpassed. I'm grateful for all my volunteers and the time and dedication they give the 4-H programs."
