Weston Reiva and Nevaeh Serna of the Battle Mountain Northern Nevada Aquatics team competed in the Bishop Invitational on June 10-11.

Reiva was runner-up, high-point for the 10-year-olds and Serna was high-point for the 11-year-olds with 10 first-place wins.

Reiva’s morning session on Saturday, June 10, got started but was soon canceled due to lighting and Serna's late session started 1.5 hours behind schedule due to lighting. 

The 50-yard butterfly, 50-yard breaststroke and 100-yard backstroke was canceled for Reiva. 

He placed second in the 100-yard freestyle on June 10 with a time of 1 minute, 17.73 seconds and was third in the 100-yard individual medley at 1:36.60.

On Sunday, June 11, he placed second in all four events, including the 50-yard backstroke (41.81), 50-yard freestyle (34.87), 100-yard butterfly (1:46.22) and the 200-yard freestyle (2:54.75).

Serna won the 100-yard individual medley in a time of 1:17.94, beating second place by 14 seconds. She took home the top spot in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:08.16 and the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:15.08, 15 seconds in front of the runner-up.

Serna stopped the clock to win the 50-yard butterfly at 35.47, a full five seconds ahead of second and she led the way in the 50-yard breaststroke at 43.89.

She won the 50-yard backstroke in a time of 33.58 to beat Carson’s Stella Pogue at 37.09 and Serna claimed the 200-yard freestyle at 2:25.81 — 36 seconds ahead of second place.
