The Winnemucca and Battle Mountain Little League baseball all-stars were in Elko last week for the District 3 Tournament.
The Winnemucca Junior all-stars dropped its first game of the tournament to White Pine on Friday, June 16, but came back through the bracket to beat Elko on Sunday morning.
Winnemucca took on High Desert (Fernley) on Monday morning and rallied to win. Winnemucca played White Pine later on Monday and results were not available at press time.
The Winnemucca 10-12-year-old stars won its first two games in the tournament, beating Battle Mountain on Thursday, June 15, and High Desert on June 16.
However, Winnemucca saw its tournament run end with losses to Elko and Walker River (Yerington).
The Winnemucca 8-10-year-old star team dropped a pair of games to High Desert and Silverada.
The Battle Mountain 10-12-year-old team lost games to Winnemucca and Walker River.
The state championships for the Junior Division takes place June 30-July 3 in Fernley.
The 8-10-year-old and 10-12-year-old divisions will play the state tournament in Winnemucca from July 19-23.
