In the case of Samuel Jesus Madrid, charged with Theft. Pursuant to negotiation, county amended to Destruction of Property. Defendant entered a guilty plea to amended charge. Court canvassed and accepted his plea. Court followed recommendation of county and did not impose any fines or fees. Court ordered restitution in the amount of $335 to be paid to the Humboldt County Treasurers office by June 1, 2023
In the case of Benito Silvestre Cantu, charged with Hit and Run Property Damage. Defendant had previously entered a guilty plea. Court Ruled as follows: Fined $1,140 converted to 7 days jail time and credit for time served.
In the case of Kory Garver, charged with; 1: Operating Unregistered Vehicle, 2: Driving w/ Suspended License. Chief DDA Michael Macdonald dismissed citation upon proof provided and in the interest of justice.

In the case of Jason Garrett Looper, charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Due to insufficient evidence found, charge was dismissed.

In the case of Taylor Jo Morrison, charged with Driving While License is Canceled, Suspended, or Revoked. Defendant has completed community service hours in lieu of fines and has obtained evaluation. Due to compliance, DDA Shane Bell amended complaint prior to court and acknowledged by all parties.
In the case of Rachel Kaylee Chavez, charged with; 1: Permit dog to chase, worry, injure or kill domestic animal on open range or private property, 2: Dogs running at large prohibited. After hearing from witnesses and recommendations from DDA Shane Bell, the court ruled as follows: No fines or fees imposed. Court ordered restitution in the amount of $25,000 to be paid to the Humboldt County Treasurers office. Defendant is to pay $300 monthly with the first payment due on or before July 1, 2023.

In the case of Zakery Donovan Wallace, charged with; 1: Driving Under the Influence-1st offense, 2: Injury to or Destruction of Property, 3: No Proof of Insurance. DDA Shane Bell stated that the victims in this matter are not requesting restitution, therefore none will be ordered. Defendant has provided proof of completion on all conditions and August hearing has been vacated.

Caleb Hinkle, age 22, was arrested for Assault Constituting DV w/ Deadly Weapon, 2: Assault with Deadly Weapon. Bail $40,000.
