The Battle Mountain NNA swim team was in Carson City over the Memorial Day weekend for the 2023 Intermountain Classic.
Nevaeh Serna won seven events over the weekend in the girls 10-12-year-old-division, including the 100-meter butterfly in a time of 1 minute, 30.49 seconds, a 7.22-second improvement.
She led the way in the 200-meter backstroke with a time of 2:53.74 and the 50-meter freestyle (33.44).
She took nearly two seconds off to win the 100-meter backstroke at 1:24.13 and chopped 4.72 seconds off in the 200-meter freestyle to win with a time of 2:43.15.
She stopped the clock at 37.30 to win the 50-meter backstroke, a 3.64 second improvement and she took off nearly five seconds to win the 100-meter freestyle at 1:13.84.
Serna was the runner-up in the 50-meter freestyle in a time of 38.24 and she was second in the 200-meter individual medley in a time of 3:01.75, a 10.46-second improvement from her previous best.

Weston Reiva competed in the boys 10 and under division and was third in the 200-meter freestyle at 3:16.06, a 6.58-second improvement.
He took off three seconds in the 100-meter backstroke to place third at 1:44.12 and he chopped two seconds off in the 50-meter freestyle and finished third with a time of 39.40.
Reiva placed third in the 50-meter backstroke (47.84) and was fifth in the 50-meter butterfly (56.26) and fifth in the 100-meter freestyle (1:31.54). he took off five seconds in both of those events.
He was sixth in the 50-meter breaststroke at 1:03.15 but took 9.07 seconds off his previous best time.

Michael Lovelace took off more than 20 seconds in the 13 and over 200-meter freestyle to place 32nd with a time of 3:47.20. He took of 70 seconds in the 400-meter freestyle for a time of 7:51.44 and he had a time of 44.72 in the 50-meter freestyle.
He took off nearly six seconds in the 100-meter freestyle for a time of 1:40.58.
