In a few years, the Lovelock baseball campers will be full pledged Mustangs, pitching, running bases and batting to the best of their abilities.
On Saturday and Sunday morning, Coach Jared Jensen, Amanda Holland and the coaches from Major League University (MLU) got them off to a good start.
The 4-H, MLU and PCHS offer the camp every year. It’s open to players aged eight and up and held on the high school baseball field.
This year 11 ball players enrolled. For $50 they got professional instruction from Coaches Austin Byler, Ray McIntire and Steve Guberti from MLU.

Pershing County 4-H coordinator Colby Burke says equivalent camps run anywhere from $300 to $500.
"Due to sufficient community support, ball clinics taught by professionals were available at discounted rates to youth this summer," she said.
The group stretched and ran before getting started. Next, the coaches guided them through exercises to help them grow as ball players.

They practiced the agility and focus demanded by the game in a fun atmosphere. The campers were speedy and enthusiastic.
Each took home a commemorative T-shirt. Burke hopes to offer the MLU camp in February or March next year.
