Battle Mountain swimmers were back in the pool in Reno from July 15-17 at the 2022 NNA Silver State Championships and Idlewild Pool.
The swimmers had to contend with hot conditions, as preliminary races started at 8 a.m. with the finals at 4 p.m.
In the 11-year-old division, Nevaeh Serna won three events and placed second in three others, to claim the high-point total with 111 points.
After winning the preliminary in the 50-meter backstroke, Serna won the final with a time of 37.46 seconds.

She won both the preliminary and final in the 200-meter freestyle with times of 2:42.56 and 2:43.65, respectively. She did the same in the 100-meter backstroke and stopped the clock in the final at 1:23.50.
Serna collected a runner-up finish in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 32.97 and in the 100-meter freestyle with a time of 1:10.33, a 2.45-second improvement. She was second in the 200-meter individual medley at 3:02.22
Weston Reiva finished fourth in the finals of the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 50.84, a 10.36-second improvement. He placed 10th in the 50-meter backstroke at 50.37.
He earned a runner-up finish in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 37.34 and was fourth in the 100-meter backstroke (1:43.50).

Reiva took nearly 13 seconds off his time in the 200-meter freestyle to place third at 3:09.72 and he was seventh in the 100-meter freestyle at 1:40.18.
Zayne Hall posted a third-place finish in the 100-meter backstroke (1:16.28) and was sixth in the mixed 400-meter freestyle. He placed 10th in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 28.36.
Saige Bakker finished eighth in the 50-meter butterfly with a time of 55.40 and she placed eighth in the 50-meter backstroke at 51.78, a 5.19-secoond improvement.
She was 11th in the 100-meter freestyle in a time of 1:42.59, nearly a 13-second improvement and ninth in the 100-meter backstroke at 1:57.04, which was a 12.18-second improvement.
She added a 15th-place finish in the 50-meter freestyle (45.76), a 4.99-second improvement and she took off nearly 25 seconds in the 50-meter breaststroke to place 20th in a time of 1:09.62.
Daxon Bakker took nearly 21 seconds off his previous best time to place third in the 100-meter breaststroke in a time of 2:04.25, but he was disqualified in the finals. He placed seventh in the 50-meter backstroke with a time of 47.94, a 7.71-second improvement and was fifth in the 100-meter freestyle at 1:29.00, a 13.43-seconmd improvement.
Bakker qualified for the finals in the 200-meter freestyle, with a second-place finish at 3:04.75, nearly 40 seconds better than his previous best.
Bakker was fifth in the 50-meter freestyle and sixth in the 50-meter breaststroke. He had to miss the finals in those three vents due to a 4H commitment.
