Donnalyn “Donni” Crawford, 75, passed away passed at Carson Tahoe Hospital on
January 3,2023 after a long illness.
Donni was born on February 4th, 1947 to Myrtle Kinsman Drake and Phillip Alfred Drake. Donni was a life-long resident of Winnemucca.
Donni Graduated from Humboldt County High in 1965, and then married James P. Crawford.
She graduated from Northern Nevada Community College with her associates degree in education in 1980, and shortly thereafter, began substitute teaching.
She taught for many years and knew almost every school-aged kid in Winnemucca up to the new millennium.
Donni’s life passions were riding horses and barrel racing in her high school years, hunting, boating, waterskiing, camping, snowmobiling, vacationing in McCall, ID, and NHRA Drag Racing.
Most of all she loved doing these things with her family and friends.
Donni was preceded in death by her parents Myrtle and Phillip Drake and her husband of 46 years, James P Crawford.
Donni is survived by her son Phillip Crawford, daughters Tami (James) Baumann and Debi (Mark) Johnson. Grandchildren are: Keshia (Chris) Jalkson, Cameron Johnson, Brittney Baumann, Donavan (Ashely) Johnson, and Michael Crawford; and great grandchildren: Taelynn, Isaac, and Teagan Jalkson, and Hazely Jae DonnaLynn Johnson.
A memorial service will be held at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley, NV at 1:00 PM on February 10, 2023, where she will be placed to rest with her husband.
A celebration of life will take place right after at the home of Jim and Tami Baumann in Carson City, NV.
