The last time the Lowry High School girls basketball team played Spring Creek it was at the NIAA State Championships at Cox Pavilion in February 2022 in Las Vegas.
The Lady Bucks won their seventh state championship that day. Eleven months later, two teams that look much different, took the floor in Winnemucca.
However, the result was the same, as Lowry got back on the winning track beating Spring Creek 51-25 to improve to 16-2 overall and 3-1 in the Northern 3A East.
The Lady Bucks’ Savannah Stoker (26) and Britain Backus combined for 48 of Lowry’s 51 points.
The duo scored all 23 points in the first half.

The Lady Bucks put the contest out of reach in the third quarter with a 9-2 run to make the score 32-14 and the lead ballooned to 40-16 at the end of the third quarter off of easy baskets created by turnovers.
Spring Creek knocked down a pair of 3-pointers in the fourth quarter but it was not enough, as Lowry closed the game on a 7-1 run.
Belen Barocio scored two points for the Lady Bucks and Kailey Franklin added a free throw.
