Battle Mountain boys pick up two wins in three games

The Battle Mountain High School boys basketball team picked up two wins in three game sin Northern 2A play this past week on its home floor.




West Wendover 68, BMHS 28


Battle Mountain hosted one of the top teams in the Northern 2A in West Wendover on Tuesday, Jan. 17, and were defeated 68-28 by the Wolverines. 


West Wendover is tied with Incline at 6-0 for the No. 1 spot in the league.


West Wendover led 30-16 at halftime, but used a 27-9 run in the third quarter and held Battle Mountain to three points in the fourth quarter to pull away for the win.

Coral Academy 10


Battle Mountain was back on its home floor on Friday night and easily defeated Coral Academy of Reno 73-10.

PCHS 41


Battle Mountain closed out the weekend on Saturday afternoon with a 61-41 win over rival Pershing County. 


The Longhorns improved to 8-6 overall and 4-2 in the Northern 2A.


Battle Mountain is tied for third in the Northern 2A at 4-2. 


The teams have not played each other this year.


Battle Mountain traveled to West Wendover on Tuesday and results were not available at press time. 


he Longhorns hit the road thiis weekend to play Silver Stage on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Yerington on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.


Battle Mountain closes out its home schedule on Feb. 3 against North Tahoe at 7:30 p.m. and Incline on Feb. 4 at 3:30 p.m.
