Battle Mountain boys drop road contest to Incline

The Battle Mountain High School boys basketball team suffered its first league loss of the season as it traveled to Incline Village this past Friday.

Incline jumped out to a quick 20-7 lead after eight minutes of play and beat the Longhorns 69-36 to drop Battle Mountain to 2-1 in the Northern 2A and 6-5 overall.

The top six teams qualify for the Northern 2A Regional Championships at Incline High School from Feb. 16-18.

The top two teams receive first-round byes.

Battle Mountain hosted West Wendover on Tuesday and results were not available at press time.

The Longhorns are back home Friday to play Coral Academy at 7:30 p.m. and Pershing County on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
