Battle Mountain basketball teams get back on the floor

The last time the Battle Mountain High School basketball teams were on the floor in game action was way back on Dec. 10 at the Comstock Classic in Virginia City.


After three weeks off the boys and girls were back in action on Monday and Tuesday in Wells and Eureka, respectively. Results were not available at press time.


The Northern 2A season kicks into high gear this weekend, as Battle Mountain hosts Silver Stage on Friday. 


The varsity contests are scheduled for 6 p.m. with the girls at 7:30 p.m. for the boys. Yerington visits Battle Mountain on Saturday, with JV action getting under way at 11 a.m. 


Battle Mountain heads to Lake Tahoe on Jan. 13-14 to play Incline and North Tahoe, respectively. 


The Longhorns return home for three home games, West Wendover (Jan. 17), Coral Academy (Jan. 20) and Pershing County (Jan. 21).

After competing in the Sierra Nevada Classic in Reno last week, the Battle Mountain wrestlers are back in Idaho for the Indian Invitational in Buhl and the JV squad will be at the Canyon Ridge tournament in Twin Falls.
