The Lowry High School boys basketball team finished the regular season with a split of two games against Spring Creek and Elko.
The Buckaroos finished the regular season 10-12 overall, 3-7 in the Northern 3A East and 6-0 against the Northern 3A West
Lowry traveled to Spring Creek on Wednesday, Feb. 8, and came away with a 64-55 win after trailing much of the contest.
The Buckaroos led 11-9 after eight minutes of play but the Spartans came back to have a double-digit lead at 44-33 after three quarters.
It was all Lowry from there, as the Buckaroos nearly equaled its total through three quarters with a 31-11 run in the final eight minutes to secure the No. 4 seed in the regional playoffs.
Lowry hosted Elko on Saturday for senior day and lost 48-35.
The Indians led 25-19 at halftime but used a 12-4 in the third quarter to build a 14-point lead at 37-23.
Lowry opens the Northern 3A Regional Championship on Thursday against Churchill County at 4:40 p.m. at North Valleys High School in Reno.
The winner plays Fernley on Friday at 4:40 p.m. at North Valleys.
Elko and Spring Creek meet in the other first-round game on Thursday at 8 p.m.
The winner plays South Tahoe on Friday at 8 p.m. The championship is set for 2 p.m. on Saturday.
The two finalists advance to the NIAA 3A State Championships at Lawlor Events Center in Reno on Feb. 24-25.
