BMHS boys drop pair of home games

The Battle Mountain High School boys basketball team closed out its home schedule for the year this past weekend with losses to North Tahoe and Incline.


In a fight for third place in the Northern 2A, North Tahoe knocked off Battle Mountain 56-51 on Friday night. 


The two schools will play on Saturday in make-up contest that was postponed on Jan. 14 due to poor weather in Lake Tahoe.


Battle Mountain hosted lncline on Saturday and fell 61-36 to the Highlanders. Incline and West Wendover are tied for first in the Northern 2A at 11-1.


North Tahoe is third at 7-4, followed by Battle Mountain (6-5), Pershing County (5-7) and Yerington (4-7). 


The top six teams advance to the Northern 2A Regional Championships in Incline from Feb. 16-18. 


Battle Mountain travels to Pershing County on Thursday for a 7:30 p.m. tip and will be in Reno on Friday to play Coral Academy at 7:30 p.m. 


The regular season finale is set for 3:30 p.m. on Saturday at North Tahoe.
