The McDermitt High School girls basketball team continue to cruise through the Eastern 1A, with two more wins on the road this past weekend.
The Lady Bulldogs had little trouble with Owyhee on Friday night, winning 60-34. McDermitt finished the sweep of the weekend, beating Carlin 49-19 to improve to 6-1 in the Eastern 1A and 17-4 overall.
Against Owyhee, McDermitt raced out to a 10-0 advantage in the first four minutes of play.
The Lady Bulldogs led 15-8 after eight minutes of play, as the Braves scored the final five points of the quarter.
It was much of the same in the second quarter, as McDermitt stretched the lead to 27-13 at halftime.
McDermitt stretched its lead to 22 points in the third quarter at 42-20 after hitting a 3-pointer near the end of the quarter.
In the win over Carlin, McDermitt built a 15-3 lead after eight minutes of play and was never challenged.
The Lady Bulldogs opened the second quarter with a 3-pointer and led 28-10 at halftime.
Eureka leads the league at 7-0 and McDermitt is a game behind at 6-1. The two teams play in McDermitt on Friday at 6 p.m.
