The Battle Mountain High School girls basketball team began its Northern 2A season, with a two-day road trip this past weekend.
The first stop was in Fallon on Friday night to face Oasis Academy, who moved up from the 1A to the 2A this year due to NIAA realignment.
The Lady Longhorns had little trouble with the Bighorns in the 64-17 win.
After a slow start to begin the contest, Battle Mountain quickly pulled away and used a 10-2 spurt in the second quarter to lead 29-10 at halftime.
The Lady Longhorns finished the game on a 22-0 run in the fourth quarter.
Battle Mountain closed out the road trip on Saturday afternoon with a 38-20 loss to Yerington.
Battle Mountain makes its home debut on Thursday against Pershing County at 6 p.m.
The Lady Longhorns play their final game of the calendar year on Friday versus Coral Academy at 6 p.m.
Battle Mountain will be back on the floor on Jan. 3, in West Wendover.
