After playing eight games in the first two weekends of the season, the Lowry High School girls basketball team had 10 days off to finally hit the practice floor.
Lowry traveled to Nixon on Tuesday, Dec. 12, in battle of state champions.
The Lady Bucks, the 3A state champs, used a 25-6 fourth-quarter run to beat Pyramid Lake, the 1A state champ, 56-41.

Lowry jumped out to a 13-4 lead in the first quarter, but quickly ran into foul trouble and Pyramid Lake rallied to finish off the quarter with a 12-2 run to hold a 16-15 advantage.
The Lakers maintained a small lead throughout the second and third quarters, leading by four points with eight minutes to play.
The Lady Bucks turned it on from there with a 25-6 run, including the final 13 points of the game.
Britain Backus and Savannah Stoker each dropped 24 points in the victory.
Stoker added seven rebounds, four steals and a block and Backus had eight steals, five rebounds and an assist.
Autum Sanchez contributed four points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals and Bryce Brinkerhoff and Natalee Formby netted two points each.

After playing its first nine games on the road, Lowry made its home debut this past Saturday afternoon against North Valleys.
The Lady Bucks beat the Panthers twice a season ago, including in the Northern 3A regional semifinals on the home floor of North Valleys.
Lowry enjoyed its home cooking, racing out to a 24-4 lead in the first quarter and cruising to a 63-36 win to improve to 8-2 on the season.
With the changes in the schedule this year, the game was considered non-conference.
Brinkerhoff started off the day with a short jumper for Lowry, as she scored a career-high 15 points. Seven of those points
North Valleys closed the gap to 4-3 with a 3-pointer, when Lowry closed out the quarter on a 20-1 run, with a number of easy baskets off its pressure defense.
The Lady Bucks led by as many as 32 points in the fourth quarter, when the Panthers scored the final five points of the contest.
Lowry had four players in double figures with a balanced scoring attack.
Backus led the way with 16 points, Stoker added 14 and Khlloe Shorey had 10 points. Formby finished with four points.

The Lady Bucks head to Idaho after Christmas to play Timberline, Eagle and Meridian.
