The McDermitt High School had a busy opening weekend in southern Nevada with a two-day tournament in Beatty.
The Lady Bulldogs played seven times over the two days, collecting five wins.
On Friday, McDermitt beat host Beatty 25-15 and 25-19 and routed Southern 3A member Pahrump Valley 25-11 and 25-10. The Lady Bulldogs closed out the day with a 25-7 and 25-19 victory over Sandy Valley.
On Saturday, McDermitt lost 25-16 and 27-25 to Liberty Baptist Academy of Las Vegas. The Lady Bulldogs earned a win over Eastern 1A foe, Lund, 25-12 and 25-19. The Lady Bulldogs picked up their fifth win with a 25-11 and 25-14 win over a JV school.
In the tournament finale, McDermitt lost 25-19 and 25-23 to Lincoln County of the Southern 2A.
McDermitt travels to Carlin on Thursday for a tournament.
The Lady Bulldogs open Eastern 1A play on Friday, Sept. 8, at home against Eureka at 4 p.m.
McDermitt is scheduled to travel to Round Mountain on Saturday, Sept. 9, for a non-conference match-up with the Knights.
