Five members of the Lowry High School cross country team made their way to Minden last Friday for the annual Douglas Class Races.
The Buckaroos’ Keaton Kenison placed 42nd in the senior race with a time of 21 minutes, 50 seconds in the 2.55-mile race.
Damonte Ranch’s Jackson Elliott won the race in a time of 12:58, followed by Austin Key from North Valleys at 13:03 and Incline’s Noah McMahan (13.34).
Spanish Springs’ Noah Jackson (13.37) and McQueen’s James Peachey (13.41) rounded out the top five.
In the junior race, Lennox Zebroski finished 44th with a time of 18:52. Carson’s Sawyer Macy led the way, stopping the watch at 13:06.
Spanish Springs’ Peyton Miller (13:32) and Travis Nichols (13:44) were second and third, receptively. Carson’s Alex Miner (13:52) and Reno’s Dylon Solomon (14:13) rounded out the top five.
Lowry’s Jace Frydendall placed 30th in the sophomore race at 18:56. Galena’s Kole Steele (13:24) and Hunter Steele (13:30) finished first and second and Carson’s Sean Thompson was close behind in third with a time of 13:32.
Galena’s Caleb Coudriet (14:02) and Whittell’s Logan Robertson (14:20) were fourth and fifth, respectively.
In the freshman boys race, Finn Baldwin finished 45th in a time of 19:36. Wooster’s Carson Boyer won with a time of 14:49 and Bishop Manogue’s Luje Swanson placed second at 14:59.
On the girls side, Lowry’s Brooklyn Swensen ran in the girls junior race at 2.55 miles and placed 30th with a time of 22:56.
Galena’s Eleanor Raker won with a time of 14:43 and Carson’s Jinnie Ponczoch was second at 16:15.
Lowry returns to the course on Friday and the Fast Fernley 4K.
