Lizards, snakes, frogs and more? They’re all coming to the fair

WINNEMUCCA—This Labor Day weekend there will be some new and very exotic visitors coming to the Fair.

The Northern Nevada Exotic Pet Expo will fill the Winnemucca Event Center from Friday, September 1, through Sunday, September 3. Family members of all ages are invited to attend —and admission is free.

The expo will showcase everything from turtles, snakes, frogs and lizards, to rodents, amphibians, fish, hedgehogs and much more. Organizers say they’ve even had a spare hawk, monkey and sugar glider. The only way to know what surprises are in store is for fair goers to come see for themselves.

Some animals welcome an up-close, hands-on experience. For humans who are a less inclined to wrap a snake around their neck, just seeing and learning is very entertaining as well.

The Northern Nevada Exotic Pet Expo will be open from Noon to 10 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
