The Lowry High School girls soccer team split four matches in a preseason tournament this past weekend in Spring Creek. Lowry beat Spring Creek and Churchill County and lost to Reed and Elko.
It will be a new look in the Northern 3A this season with realignment and 2A schools joining the league and there are a number of new faces on the Lowry High School girls soccer team.
The Lady Bucks traveled to Spring Creek this past weekend for a preseason tournament and came back home with a split of four matches.
Lowry 4,
Spring Creek 0
Lowry beat Spring Creek 4-0 on Friday and lost to Reed 5-0. On Saturday, Elko defeated Lowry 4-0 and Lowry came back to beat Churchill County 2-0.
In the win over Spring Creek, Lowry scored three times in the first half and never looked back. The Lady Bucks picked up goals from freshmen Ava Swensen and Adalyn Entwistle.
Maite Avalos added a goal and an assist and Britain Backus added a goal as well. Alia Novi, Melene Nye and Maura Bratz contributed with one assist each.

Against Reed, the Raiders found the net four times in the first half and tacked on their final goal later in the match. Cleo Fowler had nine saves for Lowry.
Reed was the No. 1 seed in the Northern 5A Regional Tournament in 2022.
Elko 4,
Lowry 0
On Saturday, Lowry trailed 1-0 at halftime against Elko, but the Indians pulled away with four goals in the second half. The Lady Bucks had a penalty kick attempt but missed on it. Fowler finished with five saves.

Churchill County 0
Lowry finished the weekend on a high note, as Kepa Hilbish scored both of the Lady Bucks’ goals in the first half. Natalya Guizar and Backus assisted on the goals. Fowler had four saves.
Lowry is off this weekend and then starts Northern 3A East play on Friday, Sept. 1, in Ely against White Pine at 3 p.m.
The Lady Bucks travel to West Wendover on Saturday, Sept. 2, for a 1:15 p.m. start.
The Northern 3A is divided in two divisions this season, with Lowry playing White, West Wendover, Spring Creek, Elko, Battle Mountain, Pershing County, Churchill County, Dayton and Fernley in league play.
Lowry will not play teams from the West division until the postseason.
