With a new-look roster and a number of underclassmen, the Battle Mountain High School football team opened its season this past Friday against Needles, Calif., in Beatty in a neutral site non-conference game. Needles picked up the win 40-12.
Battle Mountain is back in action on Friday, Sept. 8, with a non-conference game against Dayton at 7 p.m. The home debut for the Longhorns is Friday, Sept. 15, against North Tahoe at 7 p.m.
