After a long, cold spring the PCHS track team soaked up the sunshine at the Lowry Invitational last Saturday.
Ten team members competed in a variety of events. They included Josiah Hunt, Luis Sanchez, Denzel Zaldivar, Angelo Gibson, Evan Glanton, Ramon Sanchez, Izayuh McGlothin, Ashton Jimenez, Hayley Montes, and Yasmin Acosta.
The boys placed third in the 4x200 and 4x400 relay races. Luis Sanchez, Zaldivar, McGlothin and Hunt ran the 4x200.
Luis Sanchez, Ramon Sanchez, Jimenez and Gibson ran the 4x400.
Hunt placed third in the 200 meters in a time of 23.99, a personal record.
Hayley Montes PRd in the 200 meters (29.30) and 100 meters hurdles (19.20). She placed fourth in the 100 meters race with a time of 14.17 seconds.
Jimenez PRd in shot put. Luis Sanchez, Zaldivar, and Gibson beat their previous bests in the 200 meters. Glanton PRd in the 400 meters, Ramon Sanchez PRd in the 800 meters.
"It was a great track meet. We took all ten athletes and they competed in their normal track and field events. Overall, they did well. We are looking forward to our home meet on Friday, May 5," coach Matt Fuller said.
