SUSAN MONTERO • Provided to Great Basin Sun Lowry’s Caden Montero swims the 100-yard breaststroke in Reno on April 15.
The Lowry High School swim team was back in Reno at Northwest Pool on Saturday, April 15, to compete against North Valleys and North Tahoe.
On the boys side, North Valleys beat Lowry 51-28 and North Tahoe knocked off the Buckaroos 84-27.
In the girls dual, North Valleys won 116-35 and North Tahoe won 46-39.
Against North Tahoe, Caden Montero won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1 minute, 29.68 seconds and he was 100-yard breaststroke at 1:30.21.
Tanner Hatch led the way in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 7:04.48 and he was third in the 50-yard freestyle (28.01).
Montero was first as well in the 100-yard freestyle against North Valleys and he was second in the 100-yard breaststroke. Hatch was the winner in the 500-yard freestyle and second in the 50-yard freestyle.
Evie Morgan led the Lady Bucks with two wins against North Tahoe. She won the 100-yard butterfly (1:45.04) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:47.97).
Tea Bengoa won the 100-yard backstroke with as time of 1:29.30 and she was fourth in the 50-yard freestyle (33.63).
Aidan Peters was the runner-up in the 200-yard freestyle at 3:12.88 and she placed third in the 100-yard backstroke (1:40.33).
Against North Valleys, Morgan was first in the 100-yard butterfly and second in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Bengoa was third in both the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke and Peters won the 200-yard freestyle at was fifth in the 100-yard backstroke.
Lowry was back at Northwest Pool this past Saturday to swim against Fernley and Churchill County.
Results were not available at press time.
The Buckaroos trave; Truckee this Friday to compete against Fernley at 2 p.m.
The regular season ends on May 5 at Incline.
