I recently jumped out of bed in the early morning with a terrible realization. It was not the thought that the world had suddenly gone crazy but that it had gone woke!
But, then again is there a difference?
An oxymoron you might say - Democrats opposing the democratic process.
It’s a sudden and widespread appearance of a new and very unusual ideology which is very much at odds with what we generally consider our status quo.
You could, I suppose, equate woke to a form of religion. It has many of the religious characteristics that we are familiar with - true belief, emotional fervor, absolute dedication, fervent adherence and so on.
However, it doesn’t adhere to any kind of spiritual awareness or enlightenment as our traditional religions do. It is very much based on the material world around us and our future existence in it.
So many religions hold as one of their basic beliefs that they themselves are on the one true and chosen path and that all other faiths are either false or at least gone astray.
And the majority of us don’t argue with them or try to prove them wrong. To do so could cause great trouble and woe.
To illustrate my point, just look at the death, destruction and bloodshed due to the many religious wars all down through history.
And it was not long ago, at least in my memory, that reason, common sense and rational debate took place among civilized communities. Individuals could politely voice their opinions without being shouted down, marked with labels (racist, fascist) censored and silenced. But those days are rapidly slipping away and being replaced by this new dogma we call woke.
So if somehow you are new to all this you may inquire of the beliefs of these adherents to their new quasi religion. What is their doctrine and gospel?
Well you hear it all over each day in the media, from politicians and from most universities - Vaccination passports, universal basic income (UBI), central bank digital currencies (CBDC’s) with Chinese style social credit scores, LGBT+ promotion, critical race theory, trans rights, central control and big government. But above all, climate change.
And if that’s not enough there’s more, lots more.
There’s their patron saint, a Dr. Evil lookalike from a 007 movie. He is named Claus Schwab and he certainly has that sinister, evil look about him.
He calls for a “Great Reset” and the organization he heads, the World Economic Forum, is a NGO wannabe new UN.
So in the overall picture, the three big dreaded planks of a New World Order which we conspiracy nuts have been going on about for years are now well in the making...
1) A cashless society, one world currency, CBCD system
2) A one world government, the World Economic Forum (WEF)
3) A one world religion, Wokeism!
Sure, dear reader, I can hear you say it’s too bizarre to be real. But it is!
It’s as though we’ve suddenly morphed into a science fiction movie except that it’s turning into a horror film.
You could compare it to a rerun of the 1960’s movement of Mao’s Cultural revolution, but on a global scale. And how did that one turn out?
Also, back in those days there was a tragic character named Richard Millhouse Nixon.
Do you remember him? He was at the end of his reign and he was sure that the authorities were out to get him. And they were. But before they did, he figured he had an ace in the hole, his “silent majority”
That would be the good citizens making up the backbone of the country and should have his back. But they never came to his rescue, they let him twist in the wind.
But here today, dear reader, I have a feeling we may have our own new “silent majority”. That would be those who , up till now, have been too intimidated and reluctant to stand up and speak out. But they can and they will when push comes to shove. You betcha!
Reason and sanity are not lost and gone forever. Great societal changes and revolutions come and go. So will the woke movement.
Society will come to its senses and restore order.
