A 19-game winning streak requires consistent hard work and a bit of luck.
The PCHS softball team works hard and turns luck into points on the board.
Last Wednesday they beat Incline on the road 29-12.
It was their third win against the Highlanders this season.
With the win, Pershing County improved to 20-2 overall, and 14-0 in the Northern 2A.
Anna Happy, Aaliyah Allen and Taylor Garland each had home runs. Garland sped around the bases and back to the home plate, a rare and exciting play in softball.
Raegan Burrows, Riley Harvey and Taylor Garland shared pitching duties.
"It's great to have so many options on the mound. Riley goes out there and does her job no matter where I put her. It's nice to have a young player I can depend on. Between her and Kyra Cerini and the other freshmen we have high hopes for the next few years," said coach Jordan McKinney.
Pershing County traveled to Battle Mountain on Tuesday. Results were not available at press time.
The Mustangs host their rival school this Saturday, April 29, at 10 a.m. and noon. Both teams are having stellar seasons.
The Longhorns are 13-1, overall, and 12-0 in league play so the competition will be fierce.
Coach McKinney, Jason Allen and the girls hope for a big turnout.
