After a week off in the schedule, the Lowry High School baseball team returned to the field this past weekend in Fernley.
The Buckaroos won the opening game of the series 10-6 on Friday, but dropped a doubleheader on Saturday, losing game one 7-6 and the finale 5-2.
Lowry fell to 4-11-1 overall and 1-5 in the Northern 3A East.

Lowry scored seven times in the first two innings of the series opener and never trailed.
The Buckaroos scored three times in the first inning, as Brayden Dennis reached on a fielder’s choice.
Erick Valencia, Kasyn Garner and Adam Brooks all followed with singles to account for the three runs.
Lowry made the score 7-0 in the top of the second inning, as Angus Boyles led off with a single, followed by a walk to Anthony Guzman.
The Vaqueros made a handful of mistakes to aid the Buckaroos in scoring. Boyles scored on a wild pitch to make the score 4-0 and Dennis and Garner reached on errors, allowing Guzman to plate the fifth run.
Dennis scored on a bases-loaded walk to Brooks and Brandon Cardenas singled home Garner.
Fernley scored single runs in the second and third innings to cut the Lowry lead to 7-2, but the Buckaroos got a run back in the fourth, after Valencia led off with a double and scored on an error.
The Vaqueros trimmed the deficit to 8-5 with three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning but Lowry added single runs in the sixth and seventh innings to hold on for its first league win of the year.
Valencia and Garner each had two hits, as the Buckaroos had 10 for the contest.
Aidan Tregellas, Dennis, Brooks, Cardenas, Boyles and Guzman each had one hit.
Boyles got the win in five innings of work, as he allowed six runs (three earned) on eighth hits. He struck out six and walked one.
Kayd Garner threw the final two innings and allowed one hit. He struck out one batter.

In the first game on Saturday, Lowry built a 2-0 lead in the top of the third inning but could not make the lead hold up.
In the top of the third inning, the Buckaroos used base hits from Jordan Bills and Txema Bengochea and an error From Fernley to go up 2-0.
The advantage was short-lived, as Fernley used Lowry errors to its advantage to lead 3-2 after three innings.
Lowry tied the game at 3-3 in the fourth inning off an RBI-double by Erick Bergenheier to score Kasyn Garner, who led off with a single. The Buckaroos grabbed a 4-3 lead in the fifth inning, after singles by Guzman and Bengochea.
In the back-and-forth battle, Fernley plated single runs in the fifth and sixth innings to go in front 5-4.
The Buckaroos rallied in the top of the seventh inning, as Bills and Guzman singled to start the frame.
The runners moved up to second and third on an error on Guzman’s single. Kayd Garner followed with a sacrifice fly to score Bills and give Lowry a 6-5 advantage. Guzman eventually score the go-ahead run on an error.
With one out in the bottom of the seventh inning, Fernley used back-back-doubles to tie the game at 6-6.
The Vaqueros followed with a single to advance the runner to third base. With a 2-2 count on the next batter, Fernley won the game on a walk-off wild pitch.
Bills paced Lowry with three hits and Bengochea and Guzman each had two hits. Kasyn Garner, Bergenheier, Dennis, Valencia and Brooks had one hit apiece.
Brooks started for Lowry and allowed seven runs (three earned) on eight hits. He struck out four and walked two. Kayd Garner relieved him in the seventh.

Fernley scored two runs apiece in the third and fourth innings to build a 4-0 lead they would not give up. Lowry scored once in the fifth inning on an RBI-single by Omar Gomez to score Guzman. Guzman also scored Lowry’s run in the seventh inning.
Brooks and Kasyn Garner each had two hits and Bergenheier, Gomez and Bengochea had one hit apiece.
Tregellas started for Lowry and allowed four runs (none earned) on no hits in four innings of work. He walked three and struck out one.
Cardenas threw the final two innings and allowed three hits and one run (none earned).
Lowry is back home on Thursday to play Spring Creek at 3 p.m. The two play a doubleheader on Friday at 11 a.m.
