Dinosaur spotted!

Editor’s Note: Students in Leslie Enochson’s fifth grade class at French Ford Middle School are given 60 minutes each week — Genius Hour — to research something of interest to them, and then use real-world skills to create a final piece showcasing what they learned. In this instance, fifth-grader Tysin Gutierrez took his love of dinosaurs and spent time researching ways to write a news article, which we published here. Enochson said one student created a community flyer about adopting pets, and another sewed their own shirt and pants after researching clothing design.

“It has been incredible to watch their interests come out and see the skills they are trying to develop,” Enochson said.

Local Allosaurus Fragilis nicknamed “Eli” has been found eating livestock on March 23rd near Reno.

We have not heard any news about the situation, yet we believe it was because people who have been feeding Eli suddenly stopped. Pictures have been leaked showing Eli being tranquilized by animal control and being transported by car to a special farm full of food.

This isn’t the first time Eli has been in trouble, but we are expecting new news about the situation soon.

Eli grew to fame when someone saw him roaming near Winnemucca, and he has lived here in Nevada ever since, as the first dinosaur seen near Winnemucca.
