The PCHS softball team made the long trip to West Wendover last weekend. If they were tired, it didn't show in their game.
They swept the Wolverines in a triple header (21-8, 18-1, 18-1).
Along the way, the Mustangs connected on four home runs, including a grand slam.
Two of the home runs came from Anna Happy. Mady Grenz, Yasmine McKinney and Aaliyah Allen each scored one. Allen's was a grand slam.
"I'm proud of how the girls played this weekend. We got down by a few runs in the opener on Friday and they fought back to take the lead. West Wendover came to hit the ball on Friday. We had to have an answer and we did," coach Jordan McKinney said.
With the wins, Pershing County stands at 14-2 overall, and 8-0 in the Northern 2A.
They're riding a 13-game winning streak.
Taylor Garland pitched all three games.
"As a junior, Taylor is starting to show dominance over batters on that mound. She can get down to a 3-0 count and end up striking the girl out. I'm also impressed with Riley Harvey. She's a competitor and has good instincts for the game as a freshman," McKinney said.
On Saturday, Pershing County hosts North Tahoe (0-5) for a doubleheader at 10 a.m. and noon.
