All 10 members of the Pershing County High School track team competed in Pyramid Lake last Thursday.
They leaped, threw and raced against athletes from dozens of other schools. The Mustang boys and girls each placed fourth.
"We are proud of how they competed and improved on their times and distances," said coach Matt Fuller.
For the girls, Hayley Montes placed first in all of her events — 100 meters, 200 meters, 100-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles. Yasmin Acosta took fourth in the long jump.
On the boy's side, Josiah Hunt placed first in the 200 meters and second in the 100 meters.
Denzel Zaldivar won the 110-meter hurdles. Angelo Gibson took second place in the 400 meters. Izayuh McGlothin finished third in the long jump.
Luis Sanchez, Zaldivar, McGlothin and Hunt won the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1 minute, 41.98 seconds.
Ashton Jimenez, Gibson, Evan Glanton and Ramon Sanchez placed second in the 4x400 meter relay.
"We're excited about our athletes, what they've done and will continue to do for the rest of the season," said Fuller.
On Saturday, the team competes in Reno at the Galena Invitational.
