After struggling all year with weather and bad road conditions, the Battle Mountain High School track and field team finally saw some action with its home invitational on Friday.
Jolena Ayers won a pair of events, taking the top spot in the 200-meters (27.78) and the 400-meters at 1:06.6.
The senior was second in the 100-meter dash at 13.25.
Danielle Madalena won the 1,600 meters with a time of 6:41 and the freshman was second in the 3,200 meters at 15:45. Senior Jennifer Galvin won the 3,200 meters in a time of 15:02.
Lisette Haney placed third in the triple jump (27-6), sixth in the long jump (12-5.5), seventh in the high jump (3-10) and eighth in the 100 meters at 14.38. Bailey Elderkin placed fourth in the triple jump (27-3.5) and Lilly Peterson finished fifth in the 3,200 meters at 21.53.
Taylor Clark finished fifth in the 200 meters (30.36) and sixth in the 100 meters (14.30). Alexandria Ruiz and Ivy Peterson were seventh and eighth in the 100-meter hurdles and Ivy Peterson was sixth in the 1,600 meters.
Tessa Ostler was eighth in the 400 meters and Kylee Freeman was 10th in the 200 meters.
The 4x400 and 4x800 relay took home the top spot and the 4x100 relay and 4x200 relay were second.
On the boys side, Blake Stuart won the triple jump with a personal best leap of 38-0.5 and the high jump at 5-8.
Stuart added a fifth-place finish in the 100 meters (12.11) and he was sixth in the 100meter hurdles at 20.18.
Armando Eusebio led the way in the long jump at 18-0 and teammate Kodee Ray was second at 18-0. Ray placed third in the 100 meters in a time of 11.71 and fourth in the 200 meters (24.12).
Sean Bengoa turned in a runner-up finish in the high jump with a mark of 5-6, the senior was third in the 200 meters (24.00) and fourth in the 100 meters (11.78). Andy Wall won the 110-metr hurdles at 18.86 for a personal best, and he was fifth in the 300-meter hurdles at 49.72.
Alex Wall placed fifth in the high jump (4-10), (49.72), James Spealman was fifth in the pole vault (7-0) and Joey Smith was second in the 100-meter hurdles (19.29) and eight in the 300-meter hurdles.
Eli Colver placed fourth in the 3,200 meters (13:26), seventh in the 800 meters (2:46.20) and Wyatt Madalena was sixth in the 400 meters (1:00.90). Sean Doney placed ninth in the 1,600 meters and 10th in the 3,200 meters.
The 4x100 relay team was first and fourth, and the 4x400 and 4x800 relay each placed third.
Battle Mountain is off this week and travels to Eureka on April 14.
