Susan Elaine Deming passed away on September 12, 2022 at her home in Battle Mountain, Nevada.
She was born on June 19, 1949 in Sacramento, California to Sam and Margaret “Peggy” Nielsen.
She grew up in Placerville, California and graduated from El Dorado Union High School in 1967.
She received a degree in Art and Design from American River College and she spent over 30 years as a Weather Observer for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
On September 28, 1968 she married Kenneth Deming. The two celebrated 53 years of marriage in 2021.
Shortly after their marriage started, Susan and Kenneth moved to Battle Mountain, Nevada, for the last 52 years this is where they raised their two sons, made memories and called home.
Susan enjoyed traveling whenever she had the chance. She also enjoyed reading, writing in journals, photography and art.
She volunteered as a Victims of Domestic Violence support member for more than 20 years in her community.
She is survived by her children, Daniel (Elizabeth) Deming of Fayetteville, NC and David (Jennifer) Deming of Battle Mountain, NV.
Her grandchildren, Savanna Deming, Maddison Deming, Jonica Deming, Zoei Deming and Aspin Deming. Her brother, Steve Nielsen and stepsister, Jackie Cooper.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Deming and her parents, Sam and Peggy Nielsen.
