The smoke from the Mosquito Fire in California continued to hang around the Reno and Lake Tahoe area last week, causing more high school events to be canceled.
For the second week in a row, the Lowry and Battle Mountain cross country team saw the meet they were scheduled to compete in wiped off the board.
The schools were to be in Sparks on Friday for the Reed Invitational. That event has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 27.
Lowry is set to travel to Truckee on Saturday for the Truckee Cross Country Invite.
• The Lowry girls soccer team saw matche3s with Hug on Tuesday, Sept. 13 and North Valleys this past Saturday postponed due the smoke in Reno.
The Lady Bucks have not played a match since Aug. 20, and have not played at home all year.
They were scheduled to play at Wooster on Monday and results were not available at press time.
The Lady Bucks host Churchill County on Thursday at 4:45 p.m.
