After opening its season in Spring Creek, the Lowry High School boys soccer team was greeted with record heat in Winnemucca this past weekend in making its home debut.
Lowy took on South Tahoe on Friday in a Northern 3A crossover meeting, which the Vikings won 7-0.
The Buckaroos were back on the field late Saturday afternoon to take on Douglas.
The Tigers blanked the Buckaroos 5-0, dropping Lowry to 0-6 on the season.
Douglas grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 29th minute on a breakaway opportunity and added a penalty kick two minutes later to lead 2-0 at the break.
The Tigers quickly extended the advantage with three goals in a four-minute stretch in the second half.
Douglas scored in the 48th, 50th and 52nd minutes.
Lowry continues crossover play with 3A West this weekend, beginning on Friday in Truckee at 11:45 a.m.
The Buckaroos play at reno on Saturday at 11:45 a.m.
