As temperatures climbed above 100 degrees over the Labor Day weekend, the Battle Mountain High School girls soccer team made its home debut against Sage Ridge and Yerington.
The field turf at Tim Knight Field made it feel even warmer for the ladies that played, as hydration breaks were used during the matches on both days.
Battle Mountain took on Sage Ridge on Friday afternoon and the Scorpions won 10-0.
Sage Ridge netted the first goal in the fifth minute and added two more goals in the 13th and 14th minute, respectively.
The Scorpions picked up goals in the 20th and 22nd minute and added a late goal in the first half to lead 6-0 at the break,
Sage Ridge picked up four more goals in the first 20 minutes of the second half to complete the victory.
Battle Mountain rounded out the weekend on Saturday morning against Yerington in the Northern 2A match-up.
In hot conditions one again, the Lions picked up the 4-0 win to drop the Lady Longhorns to 0-2 in the Northern 2A,
Battle Mountain hosts Incline on Friday, Sept. 16 at 2 p.m. and North Tahoe on Saturday, Sept. 17, at 10 a.m.
