It was a tough final regular season road trip of the year for the Battle Mountain High School volleyball team, who dropped a pair of Northern 2A matches.
Battle Mountain traveled to Silver Stage on Friday, with the Nighthawks holding on to beat the Lady Longhorns 26-24, 25-23, 19-25, 19-25 and 15-11.
Earlier in the season, Battle Mountain beat Silver Stage in three sets.
Christina Holley had six kills on the night, with Bailey Elderkin adding three and Olivia Lemaire two.
Battle Mountain had 20 aces on the night with seven of those coming from Shea Jones and five more from Elderkin. Heidy Amezcua and Holley each had three aces and Galileah Benavidez and Jordyn Schmidt had one ace apiece.
Holley added thee blocks and Lemaire one, while Jones had 10 digs and Amezcua nine assists.
The road trip concluded on Saturday in Yerington, with the Lions winning 25-14, 25-14 and 25-17.
Lemaire had a team-high three kills, with Holley and Jones adding two kills apiece. Schmidt picked up a pair of aces and Holley and Lemaire added three and two blocks, respectively.
Jones finished with six digs, Kyandra Perez had three digs and Amezcua had seven assists.
Battle Mountain hosted West Wendover on Tuesday and results were not available at press time. The Lady Longhorns host Incline on Friday at 5 p.m.
North Tahoe, Yerington and Pershing County have clinched playoff spots in the Northern 2A Regional Championships.
Incline is fourth at 5-5, Battle Mountain sits (4-8) in fifth and Silver Stage and West Wendover are 2-9. The top six teams advance to the postseason.
