Lowry High School sophomore Katie Cassinelli finished ninth at the NIAA 3A State Girls Golf Championships held Oct. 17-18 at Genoa Lakes Golf Club.
Cassinelli shot equal rounds of 88 for a two-day total of 176. Teammate Lainey Novacek finished 35th with scores of 146 and 134 for a total of 280.
Douglas won the state title for the second year in a row, finishing with a 665.
Pahrump Valley was second at 754, followed by Virgin Valley (809), Boulder City (860) and South Tahoe (874).
Douglas’ Giana Zinke was the individual state champion with a two-day total of 156.
Boulder City’s Camryn Schaper was second at 158, Virgin Valley’s Abigail Llewelyn was third at 158 and Douglas’ Abby Miller (167) and Eldorado’s Zaryah Bell-Kane (168_ were fourth and fifth, respectively.
