#If you’ve never had the chance to watch rugby live and in person, this weekend is your chance! Teams from all over the West will be converging on the Lowry High School football field for the Winnemucca Cup, a championship set to take place starting at 8 a.m. on Oct. 22.
#The National Championship will see the best players and coaches from around the country congregate to play for the Winnemucca Cup. The East Coast Champions, the Carolina Storm, go into the competition as favorites along with the winners of the London 9s, Roots Rugby Family.
#It is believed that teams from Las Vegas, Utah and Sacramento will be joining Western Division Champions the Lady Razorbacks to close out the 6 team National Championship.
#This event is the largest in the short history of American Women’s Rugby League. Championship Rugby League has already outlined their vision to award the winning coach with the role as USA Head Coach for the upcoming Internationals in 2023. With notable experienced coaches Garen Casey, Tiffany Fa?ae?e, Sam Vailala and more all in contention.
#According to their website, the Women’s National Championship will be played in the morning while the Men’s will start around lunch time. The Winnemucca Cup will be awarded at the grounds to the winner of the National Championship, with the cash prizes being awarded at Winners Inn & Casino in the evening.
#The USA National 9s Elko Cup is set to take place on Nov. 12 in Elko, Nev., and will feature men’s teams from all over the country.
