The Lowry High School boys soccer team picked up its second win the Northern 3A East last week with a 2-1 win over Churchill County on Wednesday, Oct. 12, on senior day in Winnemucca.
The Buckaroos and Greenwave were tied 1-1 at the halftime break. Juan Alvarez scored the goal in the first half for the Buckaroos.
Jesus Guizar provided Lowry with the winning goal in the final 40 minutes.
Lowry avenged an earlier 4-3 loss to the Greenwave in Fallon.
Truckee 4, Lowry 1
Lowry began last week with a road trip to Truckee on Monday, Oct. 10, to complete crossover play with the Northern 3A West.
The Wolverines led 2-1 at halftime and scored twice more in the second half to win 4-1.
With the split, Lowry is 2-3-1 in the Northern 3A East, 0-6-0 in crossover play and 2-13-1 overall.
Lowry traveled to Dayton on Tuesday and results were not available at press time.
The Buckaroos are back on the road Saturday to play Fernley at 11:45 p.m.
Lowry’s home finale is Tuesday, Oct. 25, against Spring Creek at 3:45 p.m.
The season concludes with a road trip to Elko on Oct. 27.
