Sept. 9: In the case of Joshua Turner, charged with unsafe backing of a vehicle, failure to immediate report a traffic accident and hit and run property damage: defendant came to court prepared to pay restitution in full and presented cash, which was counted by the Clerk out loud in front of all parties totaling $1,330 and handed to the victim who was satisfied and made whole. Chief Deputy DA Kevin Pasquale motioned to dismiss county 2 due to it being relatively similar to count 3 and the court ruled: count 1 fined $50+$65; county 3 fined $1000+$140 totaling $1,255 in fines and fees, $600 suspended for a period of one year on the condition of no new like violations. The remaining $655 is to be paid monthly in payments of $50 beginning Nov. 1.
Sept. 14: In the case of Branden James Peterson, charged with resisting a public officer, trespassing and battery: Deputy DA Anthony Gordon stated there have been no new like violations within the last six months, complying with the deferred agreement. The case was dismissed.
Sept. 14: In the case of Yury Marcela Hill, charged with fail to yield at a controlled intersection: Deputy DA stated that the victim is not requesting restitution; it will not be ordered by the court. The court ruled: fined $305 in fines and fees. The defendant came prepared with full payment and will be paying the total amount following court.
Sept. 20: In the case of Jade Butcher, charged with driving with1. license cancelled/suspended/revoked,2. tail lamps, 3. headlamps: defendant pleaded guilty to amended complaint for count 1 and moved to dismiss counts 2 and 3 pursuant to negotiation. Fined $75; defendant forfeited cash bail to cover amount owed.
Sept. 20: In the case of Anna Howe, charged with basic speeding violation 1-10 over limit, fail to possess driver’s license or surrender license upon demand: Deputy DA Anthony Gordon discussed the matter with the defendant on the telephone and off the record. Pursuant to negotiation, the fine amount for count 1 was reduced with the charge to remain the same; defendant has 30 days to pay in full. Count 2 was dismissed due to compliance.
Sept. 20: In the case of Peter Lizanetz, charged with 1. Driving on right required (accident), 2. No proof of insurance: deputy DA Anthony Gordon represented county. Defendant was not present but two adult sons appeared on his behalf; provided proof of insurance for count 2 resulting in a dismissal; sons agreed to pay count 1 in full with the charge to remain as-is.
Sept. 20: In the case of Shelby Donovan Grieve, charged with basic speed 21-30 over limit: Deputy DA Anthony Gordon discussed the matter with the defendant off the record. Pursuant to negotiation the DA amended count 1 to 1-10 over the limit with the fine to reflect the change and dismissed count 2. Defendant paid in full immediately.
Sept. 20: In the case of Roberto Hernandez Jr., charged with 1. Fail or refuse to surrender suspended, cancelled or revoked; 2. Owner – proof of insurance required: deputy DA Anthony Gordon discussed the matter with the defendant off the record. Defendant provided proof of insurance and registration to the DA; citation dismissed.
Sept. 20: In the case of Stephen Richard Preator, charged with driving under the influence – first offense, driving on highway having multiple marked lanes for traffic: pleaded guilty to both counts. For count 1 sentenced to 30 days jail with 28 days stayed for period of 1 year, stayed jail time on the condition he serve two days, credited for one day served and ordered to 24 hours house arrest to be completed by Oct. 5; fined $585 to be paid by cash bail forfeiture, DUI School to be completed by Dec. 15, Victim Impact Panel to be completed by Dec. 15. Count 2: fined $115 suspended for one year on the condition of no new like violations. Bail exonerated.
Sept. 21: In the case of Devin Tinken, charged with petit larceny: pleaded guilty and was fined $1,140 with credit of $600 for the four days time served, leaving a balance of $540 to pay with monthly payments of $50 and the first due by Nov. 1. Defendant was also given the option of community service of 5 hours per month in lieu of $50.
Sept. 21: In the case of Kalli Raimi Sam, charged with breach of peace, minor in consumption of alcohol: defendant previously pleaded guilty. Fined a total of $1,850. Defendant was given credit of $300 for two days jail time served and court suspended $550 for a period of one year on condition no like violations, leaving a balance of $1,000. Defendant is to pay $50 monthly with first payment due on or before Nov. 1. Bail bond exonerated.
Sept. 21: In the case of Samantha Crutcher, charged with battery, breach of peace: pleaded no contest, fined a total of $1,495. Defendant was given credit of $300 for two days jail time served and court suspended $195 for a period of one year on condition of no like violations, leaving a balance of $1,000. Defendant is to pay $50 monthly of 5 hours community service with 1st payment due on or before Nov. 1. Bail bond exonerated.
Sept. 21: In the case of Salvador Contreras, charged with follow too closely: pleaded guilty, fined $115 with defendant paying in full that day.
