Battle Mountain girls defeat West Wendover, knocked off by Yerington, Sage Ridge

The Battle Mountain High School girls soccer team picked up one win and two losses in its last three matches.

The Lady Longhorns were at home on Saturday, Oct. 1, and beat West Wendover 4-0 for their first Northern 2A victory of the season. 

Battle Mountain scored three times in the first 40 minutes of play and never looked back.

Battle Mountain was on the road this past weekend and suffered a pair of losses to Yerington 4-0 and Sage Ridge 9-0, the top team in the Northern 2A.

The Lady Longhorns are 1-7 in league play and 2-8 overall. 

Battle Mountain hosts Pershing County on Wednesday at 5 p.m. and travels to North Tahoe and Incline this weekend. 

Battle Mountain will be back on its home field on Saturday, Oct. 22, to play White Pine at 11 a.m.
