The ballots have been cast and the final results for the 2022 General Election for the local races have been canvassed by county officials.
Humboldt County, City of Winnemucca
The Final Election Summary Report was approved by the Winnemucca City Council on Nov. 15 and by the Humboldt County Board of Commissioners on Nov. 18.
Based on the Report, 62.2 percent of registered voters participated in the most recent election, which is up 16.8 percent from the Primary Election in June, despite many of the local races having been decided by the Primary Election.
The Primary Election aided in determining those elected for multiple partisan positions even though they appeared on the General Election Ballot because same-party candidates were eliminated during the election in June and there were no candidates from opposing parties running. Those races include: Andy Heiser for the Humboldt County Assessor, Tami Rae Spero for the Humboldt County Recorder, Ron Cerri for the Humboldt County Board of Commissioners, Mark Evatz for the Humboldt County Board of Commissioners, and Rhona Lecumberry as Humboldt County Treasurer. Heiser and Lecumberry ran unopposed in their races.
The winner of the race for City of Winnemucca City Council, Seat 4, Ashley Maden, will be replacing Jim Billinglsey, who has officially termed out after serving on the Council for three full terms (12 years total), plus an additional two years to fill a vacancy.
Chairman of the Humboldt County Board of Commissioners, Jim French, has also termed out this year and will be replaced by Vice Chair, Ken Tipton. Ron Cerri was elected to serve another term on the Board and Mark Evatz will be serving his first term as a Commissioner.
Kevin Pasquale was the winner of the race for District Attorney and garnered a total of 3,627 votes. Pasquale has been working in the DA’s office as Chief Deputy District Attorney.
Richard Stone was the incumbent candidate for the race for Mayor of the City of Winnemucca and will go on to serve a second term as Mayor. Stone’s service to the City as Mayor began in 2018.
Lori Woodland, the elect for School Board Trustee, Seat E, will be serving another term on the Humboldt County School Board of Trustees and elect for School Board Trustee, Seat B, Ron Moser, will be serving his first term as a Trustee.
Elect for Humboldt County Recorder, Tia Lange, will begin her first term, as will Jill Stepper, the elect for Hospital Board, Seat B.
