Nov. 1
In the case of Michael Small, charged with operating unregistered vehicle: Deputy DA Anthony Gordon discussed with defendant off the record. Defendant agreed to forfeit cash bail posted with the charge to remain as-is.
In the case of Caleb James Lawrence, charged with basic speed 21+ over limit: Deputy DA Anthony Gordon amended the charge to 11-20 over limit pursuant to negotiation with the fine to reflect the change. Defendant agreed to pay fine immediately after court.
In the case of Alena E. Maughan, charged with basic speed 1-10 over limit, child restraint violation, resident with non-resident driver’s license: Deputy DA Anthony Gordon dismissed counts 1 and 3 with count 2 to remain as is. The defendant agreed to monthly payments of $50 beginning Nov. 4.
Nov. 2
In the case of Jimmy Palacios, charged with basic speed 11-20 over limit: chief deputy DA Kevin Pasquale discussed the matter with the defendant off the record telephonically. The defendant agreed to pay the citation in full with the charge to remain as is.
In the case of Kaleb Arthur Hansen, charged with reckless driving, basic speed 21+ over limit, no proof of insurance: chief deputy DA Kevin Pasquale moved to dismiss count 1 and 3 with count 2 to remain as is. The defendant entered a guilty plea to count two and was fined $575 with $275 suspended for a period of one year on the condition of no new like violations. The remaining $300 is to be paid in monthly installments of $100 beginning Jan. 1, 2023. Counts 1 and 3 dismissed.
Nov. 9
In the case of Andres Lopez, charged with 5 counts harassment: a bench trial was held and defendant was found guilty of two charges. Fined $1,140 for each count; county made motion to dismiss counts 3, 4, 5. Defendant is to make $100 monthly payments with the first due by Jan. 2, 2023.
Nov. 10
In the case of Ryan Anthony Perez, charged with driving while license suspended, cancelled or revoked, and current registration required: pleaded no contest to count 1, and after hearing recommendations from both parties, the court ruled 30 days jail. The County dismissed count 2.
In the case of Ryan Anthony Perez, charged with felony possession of a controlled substance: pursuant to negotiations Chief DDA Kevin Pasquale amended the charge to possess drug not to be introduced into interstate commerce. Defendant pleaded no contest and was sentenced to 30 days jail with credit for 27 days served with three more to serve.
Jorge Castaneda, charged with felony grand larceny: Chief DDA Kevin Pasquale amended to misdemeanor larceny. Defendant pleaded no contest. Chad Tregellas gave a Victim Impact statement. Court ruled: Fined $1,140; restitution in the amount of $220 paid to A1 Towing; $200 monthly payment on fines and fees; sentenced to 30 days jail with 30 days suspended for one yar on the condition of no further violations of the law other than minor traffic. Bail bond exonerated.
Nov. 14
In the case of Denice Dawn McKee, charged with trespass: defendant had previously pleaded guilty to amended charge. Fined $1,140, given credit for six days jail ($900). Remaining $240 was suspended for three months on the condition no violations of the law other than minor traffic.
Nov. 15
In the case of Amy Elizabeth Roberts, charged with driving on right half of the highway, driving in excess of posted speed zone: defendant not present and a no contest plea was entered in absentia. For count 1, fined $115; count 2 fined $85 for a total of $195 to be taken from cash bail posted and the remainder returned.
