Three former Lowry High School cross country runners will be competing at the NAIA National Championships on Friday in Tallahassee, Fla.
Will Kracaw is a member of the College of Idaho cross country team that finished second at the 2022 Cascade Collegiate Conference Cross Country Championships.
Kracaw was 17th overall in a time of 25 minutes, 59.1 seconds. Kracaw is in his third season with the Coyote cross country and track programs.
The College of Idaho women’s cross country set a program record with 17 points with the top four finishers and an eighth-place finish to secure its fourth-straight Cascade Collegiate Conference title on Nov. 4.
The first Yote across the line en route to her second-straight individual title was junior Ellyse Tingelstad, who covered the 5k course in a time of 18:27.9.
The College of Idaho had the top-four finishers and earned seven of the top 18 spots to easily defeat Southern Oregon University for the conference championship, 17-49.
LC State finished third (83), followed by Oregon Tech (136) and Eastern Oregon (142).
Jovi Kuskie, who won the 2021 Nevada 3A high school cross country state championship, was 18th at 2022 Cascade Collegiate Conference Cross Country Championships with a time of 19:54.7.
Becca Kuskie, who runs for Bushnell University in Eugene Ore., repeated as an All-Cascade Collegiate Conference selection, leading the Beacon women’s cross country team to a sixth-place finish at the CCC Championships.
Kuskie claimed 15th-place overall, coming across the finish line in 19:42. As an All-conference performer, Kuskie earned an individual berth in the NAIA National Championship.
The Beacons improved upon their eighth-place finish from last season, taking sixth place as a team with a score of 166, defeating Corban University by eight points.
Kuskie had the unique opportunity to compete alongside her younger sister, Jovi, a freshman on the College of Idaho team. Running neck-and-neck for most of the race,
