The McDermitt High School volleyball team made its way to Elko this past Saturday for the Northern 1A East Regional Championships.
The Lady Bulldogs entered the tournament as the No. 5 seed and took on No. 4 seeded Wells.
The Leopards won the first set 25-16 but had to withstand a rally by the Lady Bulldogs.
Wells scratched out the final two sets 25-23 and 26-24, ending McDermitt’s season.
Jackpot beat Carlin three sets in the other first-round match-up in Elko.
Eureka beat Wells in three sets in the semifinals and Owyhee knocked off Jackpot in four sets. Eureka claimed the regional title with a 25-19, 25-23 and 25-21 win over Owyhee.
Owyhee will play Pahranagat Valley in the opening round of the state tournament in Las Vegas on Thursday. Eureka plays Round Mountain.
