Lowry boys soccer team drops final two matches of the season

The Lowry High School boys soccer team concluded its season last week with a pair of losses in Northern 3A East play.

The Buckaroos hosted Spring Creek on Tuesday, Oct. 25, and lost 2-0 to the Spartans. 

Spring Creek scored a goal in each half to secure the victory and season sweep over Lowry.

Lowry was in Elko this past Thursday to end the year and lost 4-0 to the Northern 3A East regular season champion. 

The Indians put three goals on the board in the first half en route to the victory.

The Buckaroos finished the year 3-16-1 overall and 3-6-1 in the Northern 3A East.

The Northern 3A Regional Championships get under way this week with Bishop Manogue hosting Truckee on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. 

The winner of that match plats South Tahoe on Friday in Truckee at 1:30 p.m. or 3:30 p.m.

McQueen hosts Douglas in the other first-round match-up on Thursday, with that winner playing Elko on Friday in Truckee at 1:30 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. 

The championship is set for 2 p.m. on Saturday at Truckee High School. 

The two finalists advance to the NIAA 3A State Championships on Nov. 11-12 at Dayton High School.
